Doctrine
We Believe:
- That the Bible is the Holy, spirit-breathed, inherent, plenary
inspired word of God. That it is without error and that it is "profitable
for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in
righteousness" (II Timothy 3:16)
- That Jesus was God incarnate, God in the flesh, the very Son of God,
and that He was born of the virgin Mary through a supernatural act of God
through the Holy Spirit, called the virgin birth. (Luke 1:26-25)
- That Jesus Christ lived a sinless life. (John 8:46; 14:30)
- That Jesus Christ died a vicarious, substitutionary death as
the ultimate and final sinless and willing blood sacrifice, that He was
made to become sin for us so that we could be made the righteousness of
God in Him. (II Corinthians 5:21)
- That he rose bodily from the dead and by so doing proved himself
to be the Son of God. (Romans 1:4)
- That after His resurrection, He showed Himself to be alive by
many indisputable proofs to many witnesses. (Acts 1:3)
- That after having shown Himself alive He ascended into the
heavens. (Acts 1:9)
- That He will visibly, physically return again. (Acts 1:11)
- That as a result of the fall of man as described in Genesis
chapter three, all men are born sinners, (Romans 3:10, 23) and can
only be reconciled to Holy God by believing on the
Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:12; Acts 16:31; Romans 10:9-13); that those
who die without Christ suffer eternal separation from God in a literal
hell with no chance for reconciliation with God after death, while those
who die having been "born again" by believing in Jesus Christ are secure
in Christ and eternity. We believe the Bible teaches a literal hell to
shunned and a literal heaven to be gained.
- That the believer is eternally secure in the
Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16; Romans 8:35-39)
- That the Holy Spirit is the revelator of truth and enables
believers to do the work of the ministry to which they have been
called of God. (John 14:16-18; 16:7; 13; Galatians 2:20)
- We of Challenge Ministries International recognize that there are
traditional and denominational preferences. We likewise recognize that
each believer, and each corporate body can and should be a unique expression
of the Lord Jesus Christ. We ourselves have "preferences" in some areas,
such as baptism by immersion, but, we do not make these a "test of fellowship."
- The test of Christian fellowship is having a personal, experiential
relationship with Jesus Christ! As a "Non-Denominational Ministry," we,
like Paul the Apostle, try to be sensitive to the differences and
distinctions of cultural, traditional and denominational preferences which
are not essential to salvation so that we can effectively minister the
Gospel of Jesus Christ and the whole counsel of God across cultural, and
denominational lines in order to win the lost, disciple the saved and equip
the church to do the work of the ministry.
(Matthew 28:19-20; I Corinthians 9:19-22; Ephesians 4:11-16)
